Founded from the inspiration of exploring and imaginative mind of wanting to create or turn what we see to reality. Established in 2008, City of Gold, Johannesburg by Mr Frika Kawale. Currently responsible for the creativity, daily running of the business. For Frika being born and raised in Malawi was a contributing factor, as he was fascinated by rich culture of Malawi; the food and the style of dressing.

It was his uncle who would go on to introduce the young Frika to fashion, along with support and guidance of his father. And at a later stage the pursuit of growth in the fashion industry would then see him travel down south to see through the dream of being a designer. And having spent most of his adult life in South Africa, Studying the style of dressing in all 11 cultures the country consists of, he knew he had a lot to contribute in the industry through a combination of Mawian and South African touch
